DataPump features include the following:
The Field Injector lets you build Excel spreadsheets that work like customized,
interactive quote pages.
The RT() function lets you build tables of updating data in Excel. The data in the
table changes when you change the row or column headers.
The Field Explorer lets you view all available fields for a specified instrument, and
select fields to paste into Excel.
Data Pump beats competing DDE Servers on their own benchmark spreadsheets; and DataPump
has been thoroughly tested by Reuters and leading financial institutions.
DataPump will display appropriate error messages when any kind of communication fault
occurs; and will restore links when the fault has been rectified.
Data Pump won't overload your Triarch network. By pacing the rate at which requests for
data are sent to the Triarch sink distributor, Data Pump prevents distributor overloads
and dropped communication connections. No other DDE server provides this feature.
Configuration settings can be password protected by Network administrators.
Xyris Data Pump lets you define multiple topics with different SSL sources, update
rates, and protocols. You can define different topics for different types of data and
uses.
Within each Topic, you can specify a primary and secondary SSL source. When you request
an instrument, data is fetched from the secondary source only if it is not available from
the primary source. For example, you may want to define a topic that checks the MARKETFEED
source for an instrument first, and the SELECTFEED source only if the data was not
available.
TS1 data is historical price information stored in packed-page format. Xyris Data Pump
retrieves and unpacks TS1 data into a format usable by Excel, Reuter Graphics, and other
applications.
Xyris Data Pump supports the complete Reuters IDNDDE protocol, including local pages
and System Topic.
Like all Xyris products DataPump is not only the highest performance, most robust
alternative, it's the also the best looking and easiest to get along with.
