RTList datafeed handling component lets in-house financial
industry applications access Bloomberg's Source for Data
New York, May 20 1997: Xyris Software Inc. announced the release today
of RTList version 4, an ActiveX component that simplifies datafeed handling for financial
and process control applications. RTList Version 4 allows financial institution developers
to bring Bloomberg's wealth of real time, fundamental, and terms and conditions data into
custom, 32-bit Microsoft Windows applications using state-of-the-art ActiveX object
technology. Based on the companys extensive and successful experience with Reuters
Triarch and DDE versions of RTList, Xyris expects this version to enable a new generation
of custom and 3rd-party Microsoft Windows applications unparalleled access to Bloomberg
data. Trial copies of the RTList can be downloaded from the companys world-wide-web
site at www.xyris.com.
Until now, few Windows applications have made full use of Bloomberg real-time data.
Although traders could insert updating values into Excel and certain other applications,
custom and 3rd-party applications connecting directly to Bloombergs Source for Data
were rare. RTList version 4 makes it possible to build high-performance applications using
Bloomberg data quickly and reliably, using state-of-the-art ActiveX technology, with
today's popular development tools, including Visual Basic, Delphi, PowerBuilder, and
Visual C++.
Real-time datafeed engineering is a difficult programming specialty, one in which
complications can seriously delay -- or even sink -- development projects. RTList Version
4 eliminates the need for this specialized knowledge, cutting development time and costs.
RTList Version 4 provides a single interface to allow applications to use Bloomberg's
Source for Data, Reuters Triarch/SSL, or any DDE-based datafeed including ILX, Quotron,
and Telerate.
RTList version 4 features include:
- Simple Interface -- RTLists elegant design takes the complexity out of real-time
programming, including datafeed error recovery and reconnection.
- Connectivity -- applications built with RTList can run on Reuters Triarch/SSL, Open
Bloomberg (direct), or any DDE-based datafeed.
- Internet integration -- RTList can be used as a push client to build real-time updating
world-wide-web pages.
- Server capability -- RTList comes with RTServer giving your applications the power of a
DDE server.
- Proven technology -- RTList is the result of more than 4 years development. It is in use
at more than 100 financial institutions and in dozens of commercial applications.
- Windows Compatibility -- RTList is available in a 32-bit versions for Windows NT 3.5 and
4.0.
