New York, April 15 1997: Xyris Software Inc. announced the release
today of DataPump, a real-time data gateway for Excel allowing traders to bring large
amounts of real-time data into their spreadsheets with unprecedented speed without
affecting network stability. DataPump includes the Field Injector add-in for Excel, giving
spreadsheet the power and flexibility of a custom real-time quote terminal. Trial copies
of the DataPump can be downloaded from the companys world-wide-web site at
www.xyris.com.
"DataPump lets traders bring more data into their spreadsheets, faster, without
overwhelming the data-feed," says Xyris Maurice McGinley. "Our advanced
network configuration features solve the stability and throughput problems of existing DDE
servers."
"The Field Injector add-in moves Excel a step closer to becoming a real-time
workstation," says McGinley. "The Field Injector gives traders a simple way to
build real-time quote displays. With the Field Injector, and Excels built-in Visual
Basic scripting language, there is almost no limit to the functionality."
DataPump runs on Windows NT and Triarch data distribution networks. It supports TS1,
Reuter Graphics, and all IDN DDE compatible applications. Quantity discounts and site
licenses available.
